“Can’t launch unsupported Chrome app” when trying to launch Google Meet

If you’re seeing the error message “Can’t launch unsupported Chrome app” on a device that was previously running Google Meet in a meeting room, it may be that the device itself is not supported or qualified for Google Meet Hardware – and perhaps never was – such as:

  • ASUS Chromebox 4
  • ASUS Chromebox 5

The full error message in various languages:

  • English: Can't launch unsupported Chrome app. Notify your administrator about this issue.
  • Spanish: No se puede iniciar la app de Chrome porque no es compatible. Notifica a tu administrador sobre este problema.

If you are running unsupported hardware, we can help you get back online with a certified Google Meet Compute System. If you have any doubts about your hardware, or want to get a quote for certified hardware, get in touch with us:

You can reassign Google Meet Hardware licences from unsupported hardware to Google Meet Compute Systems to continue using the same licences.
